Positive Approach to Care Seminar – Houston, TX

The Positive Approach to Care Seminar is focused on providing a dynamic, collaborative forum for all healthcare professionals across the spectrum of long-term care, by providing 3 free CE’s for nurses, licensed social workers, and psychologists. This educational seminar is also open to memory care directors, CNAs, caregivers, families and anyone else who seeks to learn more about dementia.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Beth Nolan, works alongside Teepa Snow by training advocating and offering techniques used by professionals and families working or living with dementia or other brain changes. Dr. Nolan received her PhD in applied gerontology from the University of Kansas, holds master’s degrees in Human Development and Applied Behavior Analysis and completed her post-doctoral training in geriatric psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh. For 20 years, she worked with a variety of human services agencies to translate and implement evidence-based programs for behavioral health, criminal justice, medicine and senior living. Dr. Nolan serves as Lead Mentor, Trainer and Coach for Teepa Snow and directs research at PAC, working to improve skills to move caregivers to become better care partners.

Registration and a complimentary buffet breakfast will begin at 8AM. The keynote speaker will begin promptly at 9AM. The speaker will conclude the event at 12:30PM.

1st Annual Ride to End Alzheimer’s

Assurance Health - Alzheimer's Ride 2017

Get ready to rev your engines for a cause that can help shape the future in the advancement of in a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease! Join us for door prizes, silent auction, food trucks, live band, and motorcycles! The fee for riders is $25 and $10 for passengers. Riders and participants will meet at Indy West Harley Davidson, ride a pre-planned route to several senior living facilities, and end at the American Legion in Mooresville. Kickstands up between 10:30am and 11am. Ride security will be provided by Hoosier Wheelers and Hoosier Wheel-Hers. Riders and passengers may register and pay at the event via cash or credit/debit card.
